Camorim orders four new ASD tugs

Camorim has signed a new contract with Detroit Shipyard, in Santa Catarina, for the construction of four ASD tugs, continuing the expansion of its Brazilian-built tug fleet.

The project represents an investment of more than R$180 million. The new vessels will be 24 meters long, with 70 tonnes of bollard pull and Fire Fighting capabilities.

The first unit, C-Águia, is scheduled for delivery in June 2027, with the remaining three vessels expected to follow at four-month intervals.

The order follows a previous five-vessel newbuilding program with Detroit, which delivered C-Fênix, C-Falcão, C-Albatroz, C-Condor and C-Harpia between 2024 and 2025.

Together, the two programs represent nine new ASD tugs ordered from the Brazilian shipyard.

According to Camorim, the latest investment is aimed at strengthening its presence across 10 Brazilian ports serving key agribusiness and mining corridors.

The company currently operates a fleet of more than 150 vessels, including tugboats, PSVs, AHTSs, OSRVs, barges, line handlers, launches and floating equipment.

Camorim expects its total investments to exceed R$300 million in 2026 as it expands across port services, offshore support and marine infrastructure.
