Normand Valiant secures two more years with Petrobras in Brazil

​Solstad Offshore has secured a new two-year contract with Petrobras for the CSV Normand Valiant, extending the vessel’s employment in Brazil.

The new contract is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2026, following completion of the current Petrobras agreement and a scheduled class renewal. The gross contract value is approximately USD 62 million.
​
Normand Valiant will continue providing accommodation services in support of offshore production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf. The DP2 construction support vessel is equipped with a walk-to-work gangway system and can accommodate up to 120 people.

The vessel has been working for Petrobras under this scope since 2022. Its original two-year contract started in the second quarter of that year and was later extended.
​
A subsequent 1.5-year firm contract was announced by Solstad in November 2024 and started in February 2025.
​
Built in 2008, Normand Valiant is 78 meters long, has a deadweight of 3,111 tonnes and a 681 m² cargo deck.
​
The vessel is owned by Solstad Maritime and will remain on bareboat charter to Solstad Offshore, which holds the contract with Petrobras.
​
The latest award extends a Petrobras relationship that began in 2022 and is expected to keep Normand Valiant committed to Brazil into 2028.
