Belov begins R$ 230 million SDSV newbuild program for Petrobras

Belov Shipyard, in Simões Filho, Bahia, has started construction of two Shallow Diving Support Vessels, SDSVs, for Petrobras under a R$230.2 million newbuilding program.

The project is financed through Brazil’s Merchant Marine Fund, FMM, with Caixa Econômica Federal as financial agent.

The first vessel, Belov Arembepe, has reached the keel-laying stage. Construction began in February and is expected to be completed within 19 months, with entry into operation scheduled for the second half of 2027.

The 40.5-meter vessel will support inspection, maintenance, shallow diving and ROV activities on offshore assets.

Belov Arembepe will become the fourth SDSV in the group’s fleet and the third vessel of this type built by Belov’s own shipyard. It follows the Robert Allan RAlly 4000 design used for Belov Humaitá and Belov Amaralina.

Earlier this year, Belov signed eight four-year contracts with Petrobras totaling R$2.7 billion, covering the operation of four SDSVs, including the new Belov Arembepe.
