ACE Defender enters Petrobras contract under Capital Marítima
The ACE Defender has entered service under its Petrobras contract following completion of the operational and regulatory requirements associated with its transition to Capital Marítima.
The vessel was accepted on hire after clearing outstanding technical and regulatory matters identified during the mobilisation process, including requirements involving Petrobras and the Brazilian maritime authorities.
Earlier this year, the contractual position was transferred from Galáxia Marítima to Capital Marítima following the vessel’s transition to the Brazilian flag.
The start of operations is a positive development following the earlier challenges associated with the contractual and corporate transition. The corporate dispute surrounding Capital Marítima continues separately through judicial and arbitral proceedings but has not prevented the ACE Defender from being admitted into service under the Petrobras contract.
