Brazil’s development bank BNDES has approved up to R$2.18 billion in financing for Bram Offshore to build four ROV support vessels (RSVs) at Navship in Navegantes, Santa Catarina, using Merchant Marine Fund (FMM) resources.
The project represents approximately R$2.42 billion in total investment. The vessels will support remotely operated vehicles used for subsea inspection, maintenance and installation activities.
The design includes hybrid propulsion incorporating batteries and technologies intended to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while improving operational performance.
Construction is scheduled for 2027–2030 and is expected to sustain approximately 2,000 direct shipyard jobs. Vessel operations are expected to generate around 120 direct and 160 indirect jobs
This is the third BNDES financing operation approved with FMM resources for offshore support vessel construction in Santa Catarina during 2025–2026. Together, these operations total R$6.6 billion, with an estimated 4,000 jobs.
Nationwide, BNDES has approved more than R$15 billion for the shipbuilding sector since 2023.
